Wrongful Termination: A Master List

Since the beginning of October, multiple women shared their experiences with elected officials, entertainers, and journalists. The New York Times has done a fantastic job keeping track of the individuals we’ve held accountable, but they do not report on those who don’t face any fallout.

I’m happy to see that victims of sexual abuse are feeling empowered to tell their stories. This leads me to wonder, though, what about the individuals that do not face retribution? And worse, what about the victims who face retribution for reporting their experience?

Federal law protects employees from retaliation, as it’s considered wrongful termination to fire an employee for coming forward to report an unsuitable workplace environment (sexual abuse or otherwise), and yet, it still happens.

Here is a list of such cases, where employees have been disciplined, suspended, fired, or silenced for reporting on their experience.
